रामभक्तीचा श्रद्धासागर
गेले काही दिवसांपासून चढत्या क्रमाने रामभक्तीचा समाजजीवनातला उंचावलेला गजर सहज जाणवून येतो आहे.
घरांच्या खिडक्यांतून , अंगणांमधून उंचावलेले भगवे झेंडे, त्यावरची श्रीरामाची राजस प्रतिमा , चौकात रस्त्यांवर लावलेल्या केशरी पताकांची सजावट , पौषाच्या झुळुकीसरशी आपले अस्तित्व दाखवून देणारी , सोसायटी -बागांमध्ये संध्यासमयी गुंजणारे कीर्तनाचे, भजनांचे सूर , आणि घरी येऊन पोचलेल्या आमंत्रण अक्षता या सगळ्यामुळे येऊ घातलेल्या श्रीराम -प्राण प्रतिष्ठा सोहोळ्याची एक वातावरण निर्मिती नक्कीच झाली आहे. याच्या भरीला समाज माध्यमांतून आणि टीव्ही चॅनेल्स मधून आपल्यापर्यंत पोचणाऱ्या अयोध्या, श्रीराम, नवीन मंदिर , प्राण प्रतिष्ठा, रामल्लाची मूर्ती , त्यासाठी चाललेली पूर्वतयारी याविषयक माहितीचा दिवसेंदिवस वाढत जाणारा स्रोत यामुळे आपण काहीतरी महत्वाची, आनंदाची, प्रतिष्ठेची घटना अनुभवणार आहोत असा निर्माण होणार विश्वास !
केंद्र आणि राज्य सरकारने जाहीर केलेली सुट्टी , सांसदीय पदावरील नेत्यांचा ह्या सोहळ्यातील समावेश आणि खुद्द पंतप्रधानांनी अनुष्ठान पूर्वक प्राणप्रतिष्ठा करण्याचा घेतलेला संकल्प यामुळे या मंदिर प्रवेशाच्या घटनेला असलेला सरकारी भक्कम पाठिंबा हे पण या समारंभाचे वैशिष्ठ्य म्हणावे लागेल.
भाविकांच्या देणग्यांमधून उभ्या राहणाऱ्या राम मंदिराच्या पुनर्स्थापनेचा सोहळा हा धार्मिक आहे आणि सांस्कृतिक उत्थापनचे प्रतीक म्हणून पण त्याकडे पाहता येते.
हे भारतभर निर्माण झालेले एकत्रित श्रीराम-प्रेम हा सरकारी आदेशाचा परिणाम किंवा पक्षीय मार्केटिंग तंत्राचा प्रभावी वापर आहे असे सुलभीकरण काही बुद्धीभेद झालेल्या जीवांना वाटू शकेल .
पण हा जनमानसातील उचंबळून आलेल्या भक्तीचा आवेग इतका प्रचंड आहे कि त्यामुळेच सरकारी आदेश आणि जाहिरात तंत्राला प्रभावी प्रतिसाद मिळतो आहे. क्रिकेट विश्वचषकाच्या वेळेस सुद्धा अशाच प्रकारे लोकांमधून उदंड प्रतिसाद येऊन ते सामने, ते खेळाडू हे प्रसिद्धीच्या शिखरावर पोचतात. इथे तर श्रीराम हे भारतीयांचा मनामध्ये किती रुजले आहेत , रामायण हे किती लोकांमध्ये त्यांच्या आयुष्याचा अविभाज्य भाग आहे ह्याची प्रतीती खरे तर जनतेच्या प्रचंड सहभागाने आपल्याला येते आहे. कित्येक ठिकाणी लोकांनी आणि संस्थांनी , स्वप्रेरणेने रामकथा, प्रदर्शने, कीर्तने , रांगोळ्या, सजावटी, संमेलने
यांचे आयोजन करून अधिकाधिक लोकांना ह्या ऐतिहासिक घटनेमध्ये सहभागी करून घेतले आहे ते बघून हा खरे तर, एक प्रकारे लोकशाहीचाच अविष्कार आहे हे लक्षात घ्यावे लागेल.
सांस्कृतिक आणि प्रचलित अर्थाने धार्मिक असे हे आंदोलन केवळ काही मूठभर लोकांच्या मतावर चालू शकत नाही पण लोकांच्या मनातल्या भावना ओळखून तो धागा पुढे नेणारे नेतेच अशी आंदोलने यशस्वी करू शकतात हे सिद्ध झाले आहे. 'दुनिया झुकती है - झुकानेवाला चाहिये ' हे आपल्याला मनोमन पटले असले तरी जनमानसाचा कल ज्या दिशेने आहे त्या दिशेलाच 'झुकानेवाला' नेऊ शकतो हे पण समजून घेण्याची गरज आहे.
आपली ओळख, आपले स्वातंत्र्य ,आपली श्रद्धास्थाने या गोष्टी प्रत्येकाला आणि पर्यायाने त्या जनसमुदायाला महत्वाच्या वाटत असतात. त्यावरच झालेले घाव विसरणे कठीण असते कारण तो खरा तर स्थैर्य आणि सामंजस्य यालाच बसलेला धक्का असतो. आणि म्हणूनच रामजन्मभूमीचे आंदोलन हे लोकांमधून, त्यांच्या भावनांमधून जन्माला आले. आज घरोघरी , गावोगावी पोचलेला, रामनवमी पेक्षाही अधिक उत्साहाने साजरा केला जाणारा हा नवीन सण, हा त्या सुप्त, शांत मेजॉरिटी च्या आकांक्षा पूर्तीचे प्रतीक आहे !

Ocean of Devotion – Shriram Bhakti
For last few days, one can easily notice the increasing degree of devotion towards Shriram in public life around. Safron Flags hoisted high in windows and campuses, the Royal image of Shriram painted on them, roads and crossroads adorned with rows and rows of small saffron flags, swaying in gentle cooler breeze of Paush month, evenings filled with music , bhajan and kirtan , one can hear from societies and gardens in the city and more importantly the invitation in the form of ‘Mangal Akshata’ for the Shriram Pran-Pratishtha ceremony, which reached to crores of homes , making them part of this endeavour, this celebratory time.
All this has created vibes never seen in public domain, vibes of devotion and joy and anticipation! In addition, the ever increasing flow of information about Ayodhya, Ram Mandir, Ramlalla, Pran-Pratishtha and the preparations coming towards us through social and print media certainly has created an impression that we are going to experience something very vital, joyous and prestigious. Central and State government declared holidays , involvement of government ministers in this ceremony and resolve by the Prime minister himself to follow the stringent code of conduct for 11 days prior to performing the Pran-Pratishtha has added to the importance and highlighted solid backing of the present day government to this event.
Reestablishment of Shriram Temple at Ayodhya which is being constructed solely from the donations received from devotees and RamBhaktas, all over the world is certainly a religious ceremony, but it is a cultural renaissance too.
Few brain washed people may think that this love and devotion for Ram visible throughout India is manufactured and due to governments orders and moreover it is a victory of marketing prowess of a certain political party !
However the reality is that, the marketing has succeeded because of massive response received from common Hindus across India and the response is nothing but devotion regarding the deity , the culture, the tradition and the faith and trust in Shriram , the Maryada Purushottam , the ideal, it is a mass reaction, albeit a positive one. We have seen similar scenes during Cricket world cup, where public response is astounding which gets those games and the players to the epitome of popularity. Today the huge outpour that we see from public at large , tells us about how deep Shreeram is engrained in Bharatiya minds and how Ramayan is integral part of life for several crores of people.
So many people and organizations, on their own accord have arranged processions, Ramkatha -Sankirtan, Exhibitions, Rangoli, decorations and involved millions of people in this historical event. It should be noted that this is nothing but one more manifestation of democracy.
This mass movements which are cultural and in moder sense ‘religious’ cannot be sustained by opinion and ideology of few people, however only the leaders who understand the social mind and pick up this emotional thread to take forward, can make such movements successful. We all have heard about 'दुनिया झुकती है - झुकानेवाला चाहिये’ implying world will sway as per one wants to. But the ‘'झुकानेवाला'’, the Swayer gets success only when he reads correctly where the public wants to go and what they want.
Identity, Freedom and Belief systems are important for every individual and in turn for that community and on larger scale for that society. It is difficult to forget the assaults on the same, as they are in reality, assaults on stability and harmony within that society. That is why Ram-Janmabhoomi movement has risen from common men and women, from their deep bond to this land and its ideals. The devotion was always there, today it is put on centre stage, the old wounds being healed in the process. The festival we are celebrating on 22 Jan 2024, has surpassed the fervour of Ram-Navami this time, only because it represents attaining the objective that this silent majority of millions held close to the heart.
